Teaching art to students at home
When creating a home based art curriculum, I cannot ignore the fact that not all students will have access to the same art supplies or materials. Instead, I am thinking a lot about how having kids home is opening a door to seeing them more as individuals. This middle school art project was based on an artist, Camilla Catrambone, who chose to take a family portrait in a new way by using objects to represent people instead of the people themselves. Here is a glimpse into the middle schoolers self-portraits done in this way, I will continue to add them as they are received:
